Do the math. Show the work.
Every calculator on this site renders its computation step by step, with the regulation behind each step — so the output is something you can hand to a controller, a GM, or outside counsel. Inputs stay in your browser; nothing is transmitted anywhere.
Audit engines#
An audit engine is more than a calculator. Each one runs a real fact pattern — one worker's week, a banquet charge, a violation pattern — through the entire stacked rule set, resolved day by day, and renders every step with the regulation, ordinance, or case behind it. Where a parameter is contested or unverified, the engine discloses it as a finding rather than guessing — the house rule is computed where the law is settled, disclosed where it is not. Inputs stay in your browser; results print and share by link.

Workweek compliance auditor#
The stacked audit: one worker's real week run through federal overtime, the rolling and consecutive-hour daily-OT models, deep premium rules for 15 jurisdictions (now including Illinois and Kentucky), per-day wage floors and per-day tip-credit ceilings when rates step mid-week, citywide minimums, and hotel-ordinance wages, healthcare payments, and workload caps — resolved by date, violations itemized, shortfall extrapolated.

Audit engine
Housekeeper workload & piece-rate auditor#
All eight square-footage ordinances computed — room-count tiers, the cap-reduction and count-as special-room models, proration, the 2×-all-hours and Seattle 1.5× premiums — with package-component coverage explained, plus piece-rate decomposition under California's §226.2 and Washington's Demetrio rest-break rule.
-
Audit engine
Tip pool & service charge architect#
Per-person pool verdicts under the federal manager ban and thirteen state overlays — now with the New York and Connecticut daily dual-jobs tests, the Connecticut attestation and Colorado patron-notice gates, and card-portion-only fee math — plus a service-charge classifier that prices the downstream regular-rate uplift, overtime delta, FICA/§45B, and OBBBA exclusion.
-
Audit engine
Exposure & penalty modeler#
What a violation pattern costs across 16 regimes, sorted by damages architecture: FLSA-style doubling, enhanced multipliers (Arizona, Maryland, the two Illinois paths), penalty-wage and accruing meters (Oregon, Illinois), demand-triggered tiers (Colorado, Pennsylvania), and the California and New York derivative stacks — Florida's presuit cure, the PAGA reform caps, the New York pay-frequency gate, low and high ranges, every line cited.

Hotel compliance profiler#
Which laws apply to this hotel — and what do they cost? Room count, city, headcount, and date in; the full applicable-law profile out, with the threshold math shown, the dollar exposure each layer carries, the near-miss gates a renovation would trip, and a 24-month change horizon.

Portfolio rate forecaster#
Every scheduled wage step across your properties through 2034 — hotel-ordinance schedules, healthcare payments, and tipped phase-ins priced in dollars — with per-property and calendar-year budgets, low/base/high CPI bands, the cost of preserving wage differentials, and CSV exports.
-
Scheduling
Fair workweek premium calculator#
The five predictive-scheduling laws that actually cover hotels — Chicago, Evanston, Philadelphia, Oregon, Berkeley. It derives the premiums straight from your schedule timestamps, classifying each change, cancellation, and clopening, and screens the statutory exceptions that excuse them.

Nine print-ready walkthroughs — the seven departments plus kitchen/stewarding and a property-wide payroll-and-recordkeeping audit — with a records-to-pull list, an audit-program methodology, and the legal hook behind every item.
Calculators implement the federal model with state parameters and are educational tools, not payroll systems or legal advice. Unusual structures (tiered tipped wages, CBA terms, local ordinances) need professional review. Full disclaimer.
